Prepare product photos for eBay listings

eBay has one rule that catches people out, and it is stricter than most sellers expect.

No watermarks at all

eBay’s picture policy prohibits watermarks of any type on every listing photo, including ownership attributions, not just promotional ones, and not just on the first image. PrepShot refuses to watermark eBay output.

No added borders or text

The same policy prohibits added borders and marketing text. Padding to a square with a plain fill is fine; a decorative frame is not.

A real minimum on the longest side

eBay enforces a minimum longest edge. PrepShot skips photographs below it and tells you which, rather than enlarging them to pass.

Bigger helps buyers

eBay’s own photo guidance recommends well above the minimum, because its zoom and gallery views use the extra pixels.

Requirements change, check the date

Marketplace image requirements move, and any article listing exact figures is accurate on the day it was written and decaying from then on. PrepShot’s presets each record the date a human last checked them against the platform’s own documentation, and link to the page they came from, so you can see how stale a value is instead of assuming.
